COOKING WITH COCONUT: RECIPES FROM THE TREE OF LIFE
CULINARY WORKSHOP WITH AILEEN SUZARA OF KITCHEN KWENTO

SUNDAY, APRIL 15, 2012

Inspired by coconut, the Philippine "tree of life," we will prepare a meal using Filipino food traditions as the root, coconut as the central ingredient, and local produce as inspiration. Come to sample coconut milks, make your own from scratch, cook, and share conversations on passing recipes and balancing traditional tastes with food miles.

MENU:
BINAKOL - young coconut soup w/local spring greens, chicken, mushrooms, and lemongrass
LAING WITH A TWIST - kale with chilis, coconut milk and ginger
BIBINGKA - sweet rice cake with baby coconut
